Team Leader- Dispatch ( Warehouse)

GME designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes world-class radio communication equipment including; two-way radio communications, marine electronics, emergency locator beacons, telemetry and data radio products.

We are recruiting for an experienced Team Leaderto join our  Warehouse Department in a hands-on Leadership Role as we embark on an exciting growth phase with our state-of-the-art purposed built facility in Winston Hills. This is a rewarding role,  where you will be able to truly test and challenge your abilities whilst setting yourself up for further progression within our business. 

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, and leading a team of 8 members we are looking for  Team Leader in the Warehouse  Department who will be responsible for:

  • Leading the daily activities and output of a large Despatch team in a busy and demanding environment
  • Responsible for accurately picking and packing local and overseas customer orders and stock transfers in a timely manner against the daily schedule
  • Coaches team members to meet KPIs and achieve continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate customer sales order despatch and stock transfers using a third-party freight management portal
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Customer Service) and external suppliers (freight companies) to ensure timely order despatch and customer delivery.
  • Coordinate export shipments and Dangerous Goods management.

 To be successful in this position, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be prepared to be a ‘hands-on’ leader and participate in all aspects of the despatch function
  • Must be literate and numerate
  • Must have experience with ERP / WMS / freight management systems and tools, including RF scanning
  • Must have previous exposure to a ‘best-practice’ warehouse management environment
  • Must be able to coach less-experienced team members
  • Must be a clear communicator – written and oral
  • Must be organised and able to work under pressure and against demanding timelines
  • Must have experience operating materials handling equipment
  • Efficiency in working in a Team Environment, but also able to work unsupervised
  • May be required to assist with other Warehouse functions as directed by the Warehouse Manager
  • Training/certification in the Safe Handling of Dangerous Goods preferred
  • Manual handling training preferred
  • Forklift Licence required (High reach and Counterbalance)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting of cartons up to 16kg
  • Occasional lifting of cartons up to 28kg (using trolley equipment or 2 people lifting)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, standing and walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Manoeuvring pallets using pallet trucks or goods on trolleys

Due to recent and further planned expansion, we are looking for an experienced Administration Manager to maintain and optimise the day-to-day running of the administration arm of the business in NSW. Reporting to the Business Manager (VIC) and National Operations Manager (NSW), the NSW Administration Manager’s role will include:

  • Managing administration staff
    • Problem solving
    • Workload/assignment planning
    • Performance Reviews and Performance Management
    • Assist in hiring decisions for administration staff
    • Running internal administration training sessions
  • Providing administration point of contact for key clients
  • Tracking trainee numbers and status for key clients
  • Attending meetings with key clients
  • Ensure filing is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Regularly auditing files and providing corrective training where necessary
  • General administration duties
  • Advising Business Manager on opportunities to improve efficiency

The ideal candidate has a background in managing an administration team, preferably but not necessarily in an RTO, and experience in a client-facing role.

While the role will not necessarily directly include accredited training activities, a training qualification will be looked upon favourably.

Business or Administration qualifications

TAE40116/TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or higher

This role will be based at FTS’ Western Sydney office. Use of own vehicle is required for occasional travel in Sydney area. A competitive salary is on offer for the right applicant.
