This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Childhood Teacher to join a forward-thinking childcare provider, that puts children and families at the forefront of their philosophy.

The centre is located in Springvale, VIC and boasts a large outdoor space, where children can explore the natural environment.

Your new role
As the Early Childhood Teacher you will be the room leader for the preschool room, with a focus on developing an engaging school readiness program. You will use your fantastic communication skills and warm personality to form strong, positive relationships with staff and families alike. You be will responsible for ensuring the day to day operations of the room run smoothly and for creating a happy and nurturing classroom with the help of your team.

You will be supported in your role by an established long serving team, as well as a highly experienced Centre Director, who will continue to support your development and growth.

What you'll need to succeed

  • ACECQA assessed ECT Bachelor Degree qualification
  • Strong knowledge of the EYLF
  • Previous experience in a Room Leader role (Preschool highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills

• Assist the Team Leader with developing, planning and implementing a quality program reflecting on the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Develop strong professional relationships with colleagues, children and their families.
• Supervise and interact with the children.
• Assist children with their learning and development and conduct evaluations.
• Assist the Team Leader to maintain individual children's portfolios.
• Work as an integral part of a positive team ensuring the smooth running of the Centre.

The successful candidate must have:-
• A Certificate 3 in Children's Services
• First Aid, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Awareness training, Infection Control / Covid 19 training and Child Protection training.
• A Positive and motivated attitude towards children's learning
• A passion for Childcare
• Excellent team building skills
• Knowledge of Children's Services Regulations
• An understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework & National Quality Standards
• A clear Working with Children's check
• Previous experience

What the person in the role looks like

We are looking for:

  • a full time 3 year old Kindergarten Teacher.

What you would be doing:

  • Planning, developing and implementing the daily program for the children in your care.
  • Being responsible for planning and preparing the environment and setting up interest areas.
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive, fun, safe, healthy, productive and effective learning environment
  • Creating and maintaining excellent relationships with children, families and other team members
  • Respect and support colleagues, developing positive channels of communication to ensure a smooth running kindergarten
  • Keep records of children’s progress, routines and interests
  • Ensuring compliance with routines, policies, processes and practices

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration (VIT).
  • Previous early childhood education experience is a definite advantage, however new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high quality, responsive early childhood programs.
  • A strong commitment to placing value on partnerships with families and their children.
  • Ability to engage with and support children in a play based educational setting.
  • Current First Aid, Asthma and Management of Anaphylaxis Training or a willingness to undertake these ASAP.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to child safe standards and child protection.
  • A comprehensive understanding of young children's learning and development.
  • Demonstrated capacity to guide children’s behaviour
  • Be able to demonstrate professional, respectful and ethical relationships and practices.
